June 13

Yesterday here was good or better. We had a mixture of weather that had the boats out for a few then no boats out for awhile then more boats out at the end. One would think you could learn to ignore them but sound carries so well on the water and it's hard to ignore the possible dying screams from some of the boaters as they sound off in concert with the killing blasts of the un-muffled engines that propel the slashing propulsion blades. It's impossible to think beyond a lost limb or a disfigured torso as the terrible screaming continues. Hark, it was nothing but a fake or wishful "I'm having so much fun" sound. Tho, two weeks ago one fellow broke his leg while tubing here in our cove. His screams weren't any different the all of the rest...............As far as I know. Who knows the difference between excited or painful screams?...............I guess if you were right there looking them in the face you might be able to distinguish the difference.

It does seem that a face look isn't all that much of a deal. For the second time I decided to grow a beard and after three days started to look a little grungy. Glenda commented to that fact several times. That was enough for me to shave it off again. After the shave off, like before, I, after almost a whole day, finally had to draw the shaved off look to Glenda's attention. After looking me in the face for three days she hadn't noticed the change until I told her. That is exactly the same thing that happened before..............Is it time for me to begin my worry?

A wonderfully delicious meal at the neighbors last evening sent Glenda and I to bed contented at the days end. Unfortunately the scales this morning decried yesterdays contentedness. It appears that our eating habits will need some additional temporary modifications as well as an extra mile on the tread mill today. I don't care! The meal was well worth it.

"Unless each day can be looked back upon by an individual as one in which he has had some fun, some joy, some real satisfaction, that day is a loss."-- Dwight David Eisenhower
