June 28

A nice visit with LaDonna in progress with a rain that hasn't had a daunting effect at all. Fishing has still been possible and the rain hasn't been so loud that we can't carry on a conversation in a normal tone. Unfortunately they'll be leaving this morning for home and may be forced to drive in the rain for a couple of hours.

All three dogs finally got around to playing some. Another day to get more acquainted and Mikey would be in doggie heaven. Already he is tasting a bit of it but much more of the running around and around could kill him. He would probably go without a flinch and with many happy thoughts in his head. He may be a dud since his operation but he still seems to dearly love the girls chasing him. I'd say kind of like some old men I know. Hey! I represent that! RESENT! RESENT! Sorry about that.

Tomi has been faring pretty well too. He minds his own business and so far the girls have not wondered too strongly what his business is. He lays in the office chair and watches the action as it goes by and there isn't too much of that where the office chair is. This morning he ventured further out, I guess to see more of the action and is under the couch upstairs.

The painter and his helper are supposed to be here this morning to power wash the house in preparation for the plans to apply paint. I think he said that would be as soon as the house dries adequately. If you're interested in experiencing the joys of living on the banks of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks, now is the time to bring your $300,000 and make a deal. If you hurry you can pick your own colors. As of now the plans are to match the garage as close as we can. The painter thinks it is close to a Cape Cod Gray but we'll know for sure before he gets the paint.

What a mind! Assault the battery just came to it. I took a few pictures yesterday then the batteries decided no more. No problem, I put in four others. The second set seemed to want to honor the strike of the first four and refused to work too. I put all eight into a charger and four of them accepted the deal this morning and went back to work. The new benefits didn't seem to satisfy the first four, so as of this writing, half assed negotiations are still in progress. They don't seem to realize how close they are to permanently losing their jobs. Ah, so is life.

Not very often do people give any serious thought to the complications in and of life. The complexities of the body, driving across town to arrive safely along with so many other of the seemingly simple life's happenings. If you are and have, it isn't hard to realize how really lucky some of us are. Have you ever wondered why you're so lucky? I've read that luck is only the natural consequence of habitual positive behavior and I can go along with that. Positive behavior being a product of confidence which is just a little different way to say faith and it doesn't seem to take that much. If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed.

Okay, but while I'm here, if you would think about it, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday. Checking in at least once a day would be a good idea and probably a bare minimum. This should keep the number fresh in your mind. You never know when an emergency could arise. There are quite a few things in life that calling 911 won't help!

Carried away? Nope! I'm getting up from here and walking away under my own power. Hold you applause please.
