We had a great time at Branson with the Truesdells! Went to three shows, two of them were very good while one was only mediocre. That one was aboard the showboat Branson Belle. Of course it did have a few highlights, namely the ventriloquist, Todd Oliver and his dogs Irving and Lucy. The guy had a really good act! This was a dinner cruise that didn't take off till the show started and returned to the dock before the show ended so we didn't see anything of the lake except what we could see from the dock. The food was edible but nothing to brag about. I doubt that would be a place we would return to.
The other two shows were sooo good I'd recommend them to anyone. Mickey Gilley's show and the Paul Harris country music and comedy show. They were both right next to the Lodge of the Ozarks where we stayed so we walked to them. Paul Harris was good enough that I spent $10 for his CD. Mickey is or will be 68 years old but he is quite a performer and still a very good singer.
On the way home we stopped at the Sam's Club in Springfield. As we left there and pulled out onto Sunshine Street there was a weed-eater box laying in the middle of the street with people driving around it. Someone said it was probably just an empty box but I stopped and jumped out to get it anyway. To our surprise it contained a brand new, Feather Light, weed-eater. I stuck it in the car and drove off. It had a price tag from Wal-Mart attached, $68.76. I may need to return that baby!
I'm thinking today may be a day of rest and relaxation. Just too old for those real days and very short nights. If a smile can be one's umbrella the lack of needed sleep has left me a mite exposed. I need more than five or six hours sleep per night!
