July 2

We have a day started, that looks like it is capable of producing some rain at any moment. That could deter our painters from taking on the trim today. They've finished the body of the house and Glenda is fairly pleased with the end result so far. Being a ringed nose follower, I'm led right along with that. I haven't always been that easy but a couple of hard jerks of the chain over the course of time, soon has you amenably following along.

Got another tick off my foot this morning. I guess that would make Wednesday a five tick day instead of a four. It's too bad I can't think of anything positive about ticks at this time other than soon after finding one you can call it dead. Being as I weight myself almost everyday I'm able to vouch for the fact they don't seem to eat very much. I'm not sure but I tend to believe that the resulted swelling around the area is caused by your body holding on to some of your nourishing intake, that it then uses to manufacture tick bite fighters. These lumps, with the tiny little bite in the center are not weightless and can help cause the bottom line to mount up. I did get a haircut yesterday which I feel did help offset some of the difference in my current case.

Last year, according to my records, July 2nd was on a Wednesday. That doesn't seem right but it is a lot more closer to fact than what only my memory could produce. It was a day that started out at 70 with a 93% humidity. I can hardly believe the written word but it says we spent quite awhile that day swimming or lolling around in the lake. Lolling around the house sounds okay but swimming here is doubtful for this day.

Glenda invested some money in the game of bingo last night but the investment didn't pay off. I don't know where she is getting her money but now she has her sights set for bowling today. I'm doubtful that we can afford for both of us to participate so I'll most likely stay home. I did go along with her last week and although I bowled terribly I won two of the three pots. They were awfully tiny pots for all the crap involved. They didn't come close to covering even half the bowling costs.

Shucks we've got this home on the lake with a nice view and it's fairly comfortable. The investment divided by the days we're here would be the tally of our daily cost for the pleasure. So far the daily cost is terrible! The only way I see out of it is sell or spend as many days here as I can. Glenda is dragging her foot on the sell part so in the interest of lowering our costs, I'm forced to stay home as often as possible. What people have got to do to make it in this day and age!

"Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out if they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got, the second wind is where the more intense happiness lies."
