July 23

The humidity is so high here that some of it evidently formed into drops and fell, wetting the exposed areas just a tad.  Maybe it will rain before the day is over.  It is already 72 degrees but there is a pretty brisk breeze.  I may let my sore body rest today anyway.

I'm thinking I tested too much of Glenda's bingo supper as she cooked yesterday afternoon because I didn't lose a pound during the day.  I did a whole lot of sweating and thought I had worked my fanny off but I guess the weight only turned into muscle.  Funny, I don't feel very strong this morning.

She made some of the best home-made potato salad I've had in a long time.  Potato salad is not on our list of acceptable foods to eat but I hit on it pretty hard.  I'm sorry to say that it didn't all get eaten at the bingo parlor last night so she brought some back home with her.  I tested it already this morning to see if an overnight set had made it any better.  It didn't seem to be any better but it sure wasn't any worse either.  Now I've got to go without any breakfast!

Well, I got five small trees down and hauled away yesterday.  Glenda has voiced her opinion on two more that might get put into my days schedule if it doesn't rain too much.  The largest tree had to be cut into thirty seven different pieces so I could carry it up the hill.  I carried thirty two pieces of it up the hill, the other five I drug to the dock and put into the water as fish beds.  I couldn't tell you how many trips I made up that hill.  I don't care, going up and down that hill got to be a terrific pain and the old legs about decided to quit me before I was ready.

Actually the last little hump on the hill consists of a load of gravel dumped there and is almost impossible to walk up and over, so I tied a rope to several of the tree tops and pulled them to the road where I loaded them and hauled them away.

Okay the jig is up.  You've found me out!  My mind is not into this morning's typing lesson.  I just can't figure out how you could tell since it is practically the same old crap as any other day.  Go figure!

Did you know......that today is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day?  As incredible as it may seem vanilla is actually the most popular flavor of ice cream capturing 28% of supermarket sales (versus 8% for the next highest choice -- chocolate).
