August 25

Yesterday ended very happily! Me sitting in the recliner with a full stomach, having a spot of tea and reading a good book. What a relief to get home after spending almost two hours in a movie theater watching a really stupid low quality movie. The sound was so bad that even with my hearing aids I couldn't understand 85% of what was said.

We went to see Collateral. Here is a cut about the movie: Max (Foxx) is a failed comedy writer living in Los Angeles who makes a living as a cab driver. This movie focuses on one very tumultuous day for Max, as he figures out that the fare (Tom Cruise) he's been driving around all day is a contract killer, committing a series of hits. Now, it's up to him to somehow stop the killer from executing the last witness... as well as himself. MPAA Rating: R for violence and language.

We enjoyed the stop at Riskey's where we put six bucks with the ten dollar certificate that Glenda had won for a 12" pizza. It was pretty good. We couldn't eat it all so we boxed the leftover for later. After the stupid movie Glenda wanted to make a stop at Wal-Mart. I sat in the car and waited for her......the box with the pizza was right there beside me so.........I had a couple small pieces. When we got home I had another with my tea then another, leaving one piece for Glenda. I gained almost two pounds yesterday!

Now the movie was the free thing that Glenda also won but after sitting through it I believe she was cheated big time. They should have paid us to be there. I rarely see a movie that I like and watch very few of them! That could mean my sights are set too high but whatever the reason I don't believe this movie was entertaining at all! I would not recommend it to anyone!

Enough...........We ended yesterday with a one inch total of rain. Add the four inch total of day before, and a forecast for more rain today, tonight and in the morning. It all adds up to flood warnings galore. Too bad we can't send some of this to Boulder City.
