August 30

Pretty foggy this morning. So soupy can't see very far at all. You know, the kind you don't mind running into in Kansas. While driving through this kind of fog there, it gives you something interesting to look at. Fairly cool here this morning at 63 degrees. Yesterday was a long pants day as it appears today might be also.

We're planning a big trip this morning. Going to pick up the neighbors and go clear down to Camdenton. Gee, I don't remember the last time I strayed that far from home. I'm just hoping that I can remember how to act, out in a big city like that. I don't remember when but I do remember the last time we were on that road an old Volvo tried to run me off the road. If the fog lifts I'm going to be looking for that boy!

After we got a quote on a concrete wall of $3395 that constipated me for several days, we're off to shop for some stone blocks to build the retaining wall ourselves. Thanks to Dr. Dale, who saw my stove up condition and realizing the reason, suggested we might be able to do the job.
He has the expertise and I have, I have, well, we'll need to furnish the materials and a lot of the brawn.

Inquiring by phone we found blocks that would only cost $685 to do the job. We'll look at these today and some at a couple of other places as well.

Next I'll need to find a tiny hydraulic excavator or something to use for a couple of days. Hardly any digging to do but quite a bit past what one would want to do with a shovel.

Wow! It all sounded good enough to turn me loose! Thanks to Dale, at least what I'm full of now is different.........hope is a very happy fulfillment.

Unfortunately or fortunately due to my usual bodily content being displaced with so much hope, I lack the words to carry on with this.
