We got most of the trench opened and 2650 pounds of block laid with probably that much or more clean rock put down. We started around 7:30 am, stopped for 20 minutes around 2:00 for a bite of lunch then continued on until 7:30 pm. Dale, our workaholic neighbor, engineer, operator, foreman, estimator, truck driver, and job superintendent is our main laborer too. He is also a slave driver, but he stays right in there as one of the slaves all the time. He is real good at getting every once of work out of everyone including the ladies. The labor had everyone wet with perspiration all day but at the end of the day Mary Jo didn't show near as much fatigue Glenda and I did.
After quitting for the day Glenda and I each took a shower had a bite to eat then went straight to bed. I took a Viagra because I knew Glenda would be so tired that she could sleep through a hurricane. Turns out it was a waste because I went to sleep before she did.
Really, in fact it wasn't a very restful night. Did you ever notice at times when you are very very tired sleep, you think sleep will makes things better only to have a fitful no rest sleep?
To top the day off, I discovered this morning that I had gained a pound. Go figure!
All the masterpieces of art contain both light and shadow. A happy life is not one filled with only sunshine, but one which uses both light and shadow to produce beauty. ~Billy Graham
