November 1

Man, we moved the leaves yesterday! Moved them, then burned them. We finished about an hour and a half before the rain began. Well, we didn't really finish, we just quit for the day. You never ever finish with the leaves when you have so many trees hanging around. It's pretty much a year round battle.

I did take some time to put the battery charger on the boat batteries. While I was down there I made a few casts with a jig and caught five Crappie. Unfortunately only three of them were of a keeping size. I put'em in the basket thinking I might add to them but I haven't yet.

It is a pretty dreary looking day here. Luckily we have warm hearts and a few choice books so we'll not miss a beat. However, it seems to be a regular day in the correspondence department finding me again with nothing to say. You never know from whence your next blessing might come.

"I wouldn't call it fascism exactly, but a political system nominally controlled by an irresponsible, dumbed down electorate who are manipulated by dishonest, cynical, controlled mass media that dispense the propaganda of a corrupt political establishment can hardly be described as democracy either." --Edward Zehr
