February 4, 2005

Our continued inability to keep our pocket books closed when we stop at the casinos for a free buffet caused the one at Sam's Town yesterday to pretty well be paid for. We turned in an inquiry received in the mail as to whether we would like to get our offers via the internet and received 5000 point each for doing it. It looks like another expensive free buffet there is in our future.

Today the weather here will be something to brag about with a forecasted high of 66. Of course the damn wind forecast of 10 to 15 mph this afternoon will pretty well kick the brag down several notches on the scale but even a tiny brag is many times better than a complaint.

Glenda's calendar has us down for a free gift at the Sunset, some free playing cash at the Fiesta and a humble meal of leftovers at home. Who knows? It could turn out that the free providers will pay us for picking up the freebies. Believe it or not they have a few times in the past. It hasn't been that often but the memories of winning stay a lot longer than the ones of losing. Wonder why that is? It's probably that the losing days are so common as to be rum-drum so that the rare happenings of winning create an aurora and a blessed feeling that is near impossible to forget. I've had those feelings but I can't quite explain them but it's something like that. I suppose just the word happy could have sufficed?
