Yesterday was a great day if great is based on action. If it is based on results, beyond still being, it probably could be classified as another wasted day. A day ending where I couldn't have kicked up my heels if I had wanted to. I developed gout in the big toe of my right foot. It began Saturday and continued to worsen. Now it extends up past the ball of my foot and has just about immobilized me. I can barely walk right now and the plans of the day for me is sitting in the recliner most of the day.
They say there is always some good with any bad but I was really put out trying to find some in this case. After some thought I was able to come up with a couple things that might be called good. The first one came pretty quick; no casino visits, save money. The second was a little harder (no pun intended). It doesn't hurt now when Glenda calls me limpy!
So we're waiting for a response from our doctor to a plea I sent yesterday for a prescription for something to be called to the closest Wal-Mart pharmacy. So far he has not responded. I am open, believe me please, to any and all suggestions!
I've had this a few other times in the past and it always seemed to go away within a day or two. Only one other time did I get medication for it. I'm in dire need this time. There is no way to prop the foot to relieve the constant pain tho just sitting is the most tolerable. If you've never had this consider yourself very lucky. If you have problems, I guarantee you a dose of gout will quickly take your mind off them!
That brings up Ruby's fortune out of the fortune cookie yesterday, "Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you". I liked that one!
If money is all that a man makes, then he will be poor -- poor in happiness, poor in all that makes life worth living. - Herbert N. Casson
