August 15, 2005

It is still raining here and is supposed to continue off and on thru Thursday. Dale, down the street, had 2.3 inches in his rain gauge early Sunday morning and it's pretty much rained ever since.

Raindrops keep falling on my head but that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red. Crying's not for me cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining. Because I'm free. Nothing's worrying me.

I've heard a lot of folks over the years crying because it's dry then next thing you know they're crying because it's too wet. Crying because it's cold and then crying because it's so hot. I'm telling you we've always appreciated a new day and yet we may have been guilty crying around about the weather a time of two in the past. But the happenings during the last couple of months has certainly stopped our bawling around about the weather for ever. We're as pleased as punch to be able to participate in another day no matter what the weather! Sometimes it just takes an extra hard kick in the butt to make one appreciate the extra fat that is normally hanging there.

So many blessings come so fast that some of us don't take the time to count them. Why, we may even begin to take them for granted. It shouldn't happen but I'm afraid it does. Rain or shine, healthy or sick, a person should always find the time to thank the lord for all the blessings received.

Huh? I never noticed this soapbox here before.

Preach not to others what they should eat, but eat as becomes you, and be silent.~Epictetus
