We're going for the first radiation treatment today. Supposed to be there at 11:00 for a fifteen minute treatment but they want us at that time, being this is the first treatment, in case there is a problem. That way they can work through their lunch and not disrupt their schedule. That kind of gives me a pang of some kind but I can't figure out why.
Later this afternoon I think three of Glenda's female school chums plan to come visit her. She is looking forward to that.
I'm looking for a quite place in the house to recluse myself. Number one; four women talking and you know it will be more than one at a time. Number two; the talk will be about a lot of people and many things that I've never heard of and really have no desire to hear it now. Number three; I'm just past half way in a very good book and it's really getting better. I know several more reasons but I'm thinking three is enough. As far as that goes the first one would be enough for most men, especially me.
Yesterday we got our car then went to vote. We went out of our way to vote and both votes were wasted. Voter 201 and voter 202 didn't change the outcome and wouldn't have been necessary as the school tax thing passed by at least 100 votes. It did fail in Morgan Count but Miller County humped us over the top. It doesn't seem right that the weekend home owners will probably bare the brunt of the increased real estate tax burden yet they didn't get to vote. I guess it was a result of poor turnout overall. I suspect the poor and the renters with four or five kids were mostly the ones that turned out!
A citizen of America will cross the ocean to fight for democracy, but won't cross the street to vote in a national election.~Bill Vaughan
