Glenda had her first radiation treatment yesterday. It went well. From the waiting room she left to visit the bathroom and when she came back she had already had the treatment. She was gone for a good while and I worried some but it all worked out. The bathroom is around the corner and up a hall from the waiting room and the doctor ushered her to the treatment place as soon as she walked out of the bathroom.
She has the second treatment scheduled for this morning at 8:45 then we have got to rush to Columbia in hopes of making it on time for the Doctor Dale appointment at 10:50. It's going to be pretty tight but I think we can do it.
According to Glenda the treatment isn't anything that she was even aware of except they told her it was happening. We're also told that it could be down the road after maybe 14 treatments the skin will probably react some to the radiation. More like a sunburn than anything else tho in the end the skin there could be like a rhinoceros....... thick skinned. They also told her to forget eating healthy now. Eat fats, drink whole milk and eat a lot. That is all to help the killed things grow back or something like that. At the same time they tell her that her appetite may be diminished because of the treatments. What a world we live in now!
