August 7, 2005

Lazed around all day yesterday. I kind of liked it. I'm doubting that today will be much different except we can watch a NASCAR race this afternoon.

Glenda got up yesterday, took a shower and re-bandaged the area all by herself. She also fixed her own breakfast. She is getting a little bit better everyday. We were a little concerned about a large lump in the area where the lymph node was removed but the doctor said it was only a normal collection of liquid. The doctor allowed her to remove the brace that kept her knee straight. The graft is doing real well and now after keeping the knee straight for so long the radiation doctor wants her to exercise it. Something like trying to keep the skin pliable.

Glenda doesn't need to see the doctor again till September the 20th unless something comes up. She has an appointment with two doctors after the x-rays and CT scans are over that day. One is the chemo doctor and I can't remember why we're supposed to see him again. Hopefully his services won't be needed.

Monday through Friday her radiation treatments are at 1:45 at the hospital in Osage Beach which is a 44 mile round trip. Then next week they are changed to 10:45. I can barely type it, no way could I explain it. We just do what they tell us and pray.

Progress isn't made by early risers. It's made by lazy men trying to find easier ways to do something.~Robert Heinlein
