Got us some rain happening here this morning. One of those nice gentle rains so far but the talk is it could get a little harder with some thunder and lighting dragged along. Whoa! I just heard the first peal of thunder.
A good reading day! One of those that because of the rain you don't get that guilty feeling sitting there. Glenda is going out with the girls to a card party in Eldon. They plan to play 'Hands and Foot' which is a game Glenda has never tried. We did look it up on the internet so she does have some idea of how it goes. It looked to be a scorekeepers nightmare to me.
Glenda had some neighbors over for supper last night, Ruthie and the Struebbe's. The Struebbe's are closing down their house for the year and will soon be on their way to Yuma. Ruthie will be going out in a couple months too. She flies out.
How do you keep them on the farm after they've been out of Missouri a few times? Glenda is frothing at the bit wanting to go but we have got to wait. Frothing at the bit would be like putting a head on your head wouldn't it? Speaking of head, I'm heading out now. Lightning just made a place for itself across the sky. It was an evil looking strike too. There is sometimes a good with evil! I've got to stop this and pull the plug now. That's a good isn't it?
The brain is a wonderful organ. It starts working the moment you get up in the morning and does not stop until you sit down at the computer.~Robert Frost (edt)
