The Charter guy came pretty early yesterday to add cable TV to our cable computer hook up. We were very surprised to learn that someone had not put a filter on the line at the top of the telephone pole which would have allowed us to receive the TV signals for free. Dad Gum it! Another case of stupidity costing us!
The tree cutter came and gave us a price of $175 to cut the tree then quoted $400 to cut it and haul it off. Heck, if we didn't mind the tree laying in the yard I think we could cut the thing down. We can't do the $400 and can't carry it off ourselves so have about decided to let the damn thing rot till it falls then have the insurance company pay to haul it off. The guy also asked about the sidewalk that I had mentioned but I told him at with those kind of prices for the tree I didn't think we could afford him to do the sidewalk either and asked him just to forget it.
Our car has been at the Ford garage for several days now. We took it in because the drivers widow wouldn't come up. After checking it out they decided a new motor was required. That and because the new panels for the doors were in, asked if we would drive a loaner till they could get all the work done. Yes was our answer but after about four days we're still waiting. No big deal because the Grand Marquee is a nice car and all the repairs are under warranty.
The thoughts that they'll have it ready today along with an attempt to abort the usual sadness that a boat visit causes I'm staying home while back in life's flow, Ruthie and Dory are heading out to Boonville. GOOD LUCK I say and really hope Dory can do a repeat of the $2500 pot that she won there last year.
