For us, up and about at 5:30 for coffee and such then a leisure period of drinking it and watching the news on TV. We flip around some so as to keep our minds fed with as much of the different news takes as we can. From CNN (yuk!) to ABC to Fox and some of the rest. Watching as much as we do and with the versatility that we engage makes us feel more capable of forming our own 'informed' opinions. This morning we used up almost two hours of this before we really got up and about.
Sad, but we're aware of quite a few friends that very seldom watch the news because they would rather keep their blinders covered eyes straight ahead so as to proceed, unencumbered by any real time happenings, down their chosen visible paths. Rather than take a little time to form their own opinions they tend to take a look sporadically at a news program or glance at a newspaper and accept those quick flashes as fact. My, my who can believe all the polls or biased news media sources as gospel?
That really worries me, all these fine folks following the media Judas goat. Before you know it, all our liberties will be slaughtered leaving most of us as taxed out peasants standing around begging for another government provided hand out or service using our money they've taken from us to pay for it. Meanwhile the goat goes on telling you how great you'll have it this way. Work? Work? Who will need to work when just about everything will be given to you if you learn to jump thru the hoops properly.
My goodness, I seem to have gotten carried away.
Be ignorance thy choice, where knowledge leads to woe. ~ James Beattie
