October 28

This morning, as I looked out across the cove, I saw the usual, this time of the year mist, rising from the surface of the lake but because of Halloween so near I was able to view it in quite a different way. This morning it looked like a partying bunch of haints heading back to their haunts after a good nights whoopla playing around in the 75 degree water. Taking a break out of the colder 34 degree night time temperature and probably having a grand time as they warmed up. Now that the sun has begun warming the surrounding temps they shake off and head back to where ever.

more word searching, more word searching, more word searching........oh yeah!

I remember years past heading for the woods before daylight in pursuit of the four legged deer then coming in much later chilled to the bone. Wowee, if I had only known about the cheese like Dory brought home and we had with our lunch yesterday I could have prevented that. She brought home some really delicious hot habanero cheese slices and I do declare if one would begin eating it long enough ahead of the trek to the woods and if the cheese should stop things up as they say it is apt to, the hot stuff internally contained, would darn sure prevent much cooling and for sure no chilled to the bone condition. I imagine that if and when it ever broke loose, 'fire in the hole' would be a probable scream. Man, that cheese was hot but it was ever so good! Fortunately I didn't eat so much as to cause a problem and wasn't given a strong enough reason to scream this morning.
