Well the thing is, I was able to hold on well enough to get up the seven steps to the garage but it was absolutely too slick for me to attempt coming back down them. Mikey and I had gone up to check the neighborhood out and after we finally made the steps and mounted the blacktopped road area it was smooth sailing. No ice on the roadway to hinder us but the ice laden limbs hanging so low over the roadway could cause a vehicle somewhat of a problem.
After the short tour, I could not come back down the steps nor walk down the few wooden steps at Parker's. The steps were so icy and the hand rails so icy you had nothing to hold on to. I walked to Gary's and came home thru the yards. Then back out thru the yards to the garage where I pulled our meager pail of salt and whapped it onto our seven steps which at least made going down them to the house possible. Should have brought the salt down with me! I tried to go the wooden steps to the lower level but found that to be impossible also. I then turned and went around thru the yard. Since that left me so close to the dock I went there and made a few casts. The warm lake had kept any ice off the walkway and dock so that wasn't a problem. Caught a couple really nice crappie in five or six casts then came on back to the house.
Can't say yet what today looks like but think it won't be much worse than it was. A tinkle of worry has been caused by the power going off then after a few seconds coming back on. This started around 4:27 and happened several time. Every time it went off it stopped the CPAP machine which seemed to cause the face mask that covers both my breathing orifices, to disallow enough air for me to breath freely. Made me think of a baby, waking up sucking like that, tho it was only air I was sucking for. Anyway I went ahead and got up knowing that the time set for the coffee machine wouldn't be correct if still set at all, because of the outages. Plus I thought I should getter made in case the power did go off and stay.
If you listen to the TV, woe will be a good one word description of the results of the happenings beginning this evening and into tomorrow.
