Before retiring each night we turn back the thermostat a couple degrees which seems to make for a better sleep. After rousing in the morning one of my firsts acts is to, um- well, a quick moment for relief but the second act is to turn the heat back up. I go in and pour two cups of coffee putting ice in mine to cool it and sticking Dory's into the microwave because she likes it McDonald's kind of hot. While the coffees are working on their new temperatures I go down to let the cat out and feed him. Back upstairs I drink my coffee down and pour another with no ice this time and carry it and Dory's to the bedroom. I crawl back under the covers to await the warming of the house.
This is our news watching time. We catch up on about everything everywhere. Watching the news is a poor way to start a day or to end a day for that matter but we do it anyway. If it isn't bad it isn't news and being fed so much bad, especially first thing to one carry thru the day or last thing one to sleep with, can deeply depress a person if they're not strong enough to fight it. All forms of the news media put the stuff on at the same worst time for anyone to be watching. Makes a conspiracy to depress everyone of the United States citizens, to look like a very strong possibility.
This morning a news person, talking about some high priced project or another, noted that the Federal Government was going to pick up 75% of the cost, the State was going to accept 10% of it leaving only 15% for the tax payers.................. Do you see anything wrong here? My poorly educated dumb mathematical mind sees it as 100% of the cost being paid for by the tax payers! I mean I think both the State and Federal governments get all their money from taxes..... Am I incorrect in this assumption?
When we feel hatred, ill-at-ease, depressed, anxious, and a hundred other negative emotions, we are almost always living in the past or future, not in the present moment. ~ Alice Ruddy
