A wonderful blessing just to wake to another day, but this morning the surprise of everything being white made it even a bit bigger deal. An unexpected skift of snow during the dark makes the same old sun, that only today and never again, is heralding in the new year of 2008, appear to shine brighter than ever. Beautiful but very cold for the first day of the new year might be a sign but I can't figure out what it might mean, Dory being my only thought.

As might be expected, a commonality to the female gene, this morning mother nature sent forth a strong wind to rearrange the small skift she left last night. Typical huh? Sure does make it cold and like most of their rearranging, it doesn't make it look a damn sight better at all!

I sat in my recliner last night until 1:00 am and before retiring, tried to send the happy new year thing. It is a complex happening to wake from a deep nap and then try to send a message while still only half awake. The complexity of the chore was evidently too much because I had to send it again this morning. The real early morning try only went to Dory's computer as near as I can tell.

I had planned to send the thing right after midnight but a more important urge overcame me. As Don Imus might have called it, "I became nappy headed".

Twenty or thirty years ago I never ever dreamed or even thought about seeing a new year called 2008! Being born so long ago, I can't remember a time that I ever thought or believed a 2008 in my life period. As far as that goes I don't recall any thoughts that went out anywhere into the two thousands. As things go, I may be on my way to happy because I can't really recall very much of anything! Out there in the don't know land has got to be the heaven on earth. But I'm not absolutely sure of that yet.

I am not complaining! Let us all see higher and higher numbers indicating the year!
