January 27

I'm telling you! If you want to talk about a rip-off! Or maybe you don't but I've started it in my head so I'm going on with it anyway. At night I use a CPAP machine to keep my breathing stuff open as I sleep. It isn't a problem and does it's job as far as I know. A few days ago I dropped the cheap-ass mask and broke it so we ordered a replacement.

We only need the mask that looks like, if you pushed it really hard, could be sold for around twenty bucks. WRONG! Insurance is involved so the price is $282.96. It is absolutely unbelievable! There is more disbelief to this tale. All we need is the mask but they tell us they've got to send the headgear too. That is an additional $59.62. Oh no, that isn't all, they tell us we have got to take a new 6' CPAP tubing also. The price of that is $61.53.

At home, when we opened the box we discovered they had added a couple of very small pieces of foam rubber in a bag with filters written on it. Cost of that, $22.99. Not done yet! There was a second tiny bag with two more little things that had filter written on it too for another $22.99. Total cost was $450.09. You don't even need a spoon to gag me on this deal.

To finish the thing off here at the bottom, the mask isn't the one I wanted and the filters don't fit anywhere on any of it. We're taking it back next trip to Columbia to try for the correct mask and a little face to face discussion on what I need verses what they say I've got to have.
