March 13

You might find a deal on something, find a neat internet site or find a real good book at the library but a possession must be lost before it can be found. That is exactly what happened here. I lost my hearing aid Tuesday and Dory found it yesterday. How quickly a sadness can jump up the scale to become a celebratory mood is amazing.

We bought batteries for the metal detector yesterday then put it to work when we got home. The detector didn't really detect it but I give it credit for the find. Dory was using it in the yard and the need to swing it back and forth slows your forward movement. Because of the slow walk Dory was able to take a closer look and spied the thing off to her left. What a great moment! It was in an area that we had both traversed many times during out initial search and several more times during the subsequent searches that we conducted. A good bit of exercise being the only results of those many $1200.00 motivated sad walks.

In my experience, there is only one motivation, and that is desire. No reasons or principle contain it or stand against it. ~Jane Smith
