Made it back just fine from our overnight trip in Boonville. A good time was had by all.......I think. Lena didn't act like she felt very good but she was still playing when we left.
Just happened I was lucky enough to be at one of the right machines at the right time, holding a queen of hearts and on the next click of the button it dealt me the other four needed for a royal flush. That $212.36 win allowed us to stay up and play later than normal.
We still had a few bucks to play the next morning and even then brought some of it home. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to pay for the fuel used to get there and back but it has been my experience that a little bit of negativity mixed in the fray tends to accentuate the positive.
Gasoline around here is $3.599 per gallon but we have a need and the time for a visit to the Hy-Vee grocery store where we'll get a 3 cent per gallon discount which could result in a savings of as much as 45 cents to be used the next time which could take us a little over three miles down the road............WHOOPEE DOOO DAMN WHAT A SHAM!
It seems some powerful people, whom the cost of oil doesn't affect as we the tax payers pay for theirs, would prefer a screwing of us lower peons by the oil producing countries than to drill for our own oil.
Filibusters by Senate Democrats continue to keep the measure to drill in the Artic National wildlife Refuge from coming to a vote. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge with eight million acres of the refuge designated as Wilderness Area. The 1980 expansion of the refuge designated only 1.5 million acres of the coastal plain as the 1002 area but no drilling yet allowed. A wonderful place I guess, but one that will not be seen by very many people ever because there are presently no roads within or leading into the refuge.
Drilling for oil has cleaned up and come a long way but the chance that a bucket or two might discolor or create a cleanable mess is way more worrisome than the lives of all the U S of A's lowly citizens.
Geez! You don't need a spoon to gag me!
