If you ignore the calendar and think that a new week always begins on Monday then my week started out bad and just kept getting badder. I'm praying good may slip in and become dominate for the rest of the week and beyond.
One might think that the bad began when I hauled Glenda and Ruthie to the meeting place for their week trip to Las Vegas leaving me alone for the week. I'm going to be well fed which makes me a little undecided about this. It didn't seem bad to give Glenda the house keys to lock the front door as I went to get the car out but that might have been when bad began.
When she got into the car she gave them back and sitting in the drivers seat as I was with the seat belt buckled, I stuck the keys over the visor. Picked Ruthie up and drove them to the meeting place and then returned noting that our neighbors, the Struebbe's, had already left for New Haven. Backed the car into the garage then picked up a treat for Mikey off the counter there and gave it to him in the driveway as the garage door went down. I started down the steps feeling in my pocket for the house keys only to remember too late they were on the sun visor in the car. No way into the house and the Struebbe's with their key that I could use were gone!
After checking all the possibilities to enter I decided that the most economical way was to break, what I wrongly thought was, a replaceable window pane in the rear garage door. I tapped the pane with a rock then went to a larger rock and finally reverted to a 6x6 3 foot long timber. Much to my surprise when it broke, the whole window shattered into a thousand pieces. The bigger surprise was to discover another window still there. Believe me, the effort to shatter that one was even more than the first.
I cleaned up most of the mess, covered the window with a piece of plywood only after charging a battery for the drill and finally got into the house. Now I've got to figure out how in the world do I get the rest of the window out and what do I replace it with. Maybe we don't need a window in that door anyway?
Glenda did call telling me they made it to Vegas which is good but they were unable to get their luggage so far because of thunder storm produced lightning in the area which was bad.
good or bad, life is but a dream sweetheart...........makes me think I don't want to be awakened. Heck, most any badder can probably be good when compared to gone.
