October 1

On my daily walk in the dark I've been carrying a flashlight and it only brightens a small spot. If you want to see where you're walking the shine doesn't show the sides of the road. This creates an aggravating bit of discomfort.

Well, thanks to a Bass Pro gift that I received that isn't the case anymore. I have a 15 LED head lamp now. It produces 120,000 MCD white light that brightens out about 60 feet and make the both road edges visible too. Sure makes for a more joyful walk.

One problem tho is the light in the middle of my forehead draws bugs! Near the top of the mountainous hill my mouth is pretty much wide open sucking in the necessary oxygen to continue, I have sucked in several bugs so far. I don't know but the extra protein or whatever may be a plus.

This morning I saw 2 miniature headlights shining near the edge of the road in two different places. The first pair was near the middle of the hill and turned out to be a raccoon that slowly moseyed off into the woods. The second pair was on W Oak approaching Y19. This pair held their ground even as I made quite a bit of noise and walked toward it. Being so tough as to hold it's ground caused me to abandon my thought to poke it with my walking stick and not quite get close enough to see what it was. As far as I could make out, I believe it was a coon also. Wonder how many animals I missed when carrying the flashlight.

Hey, the date reads the same reading it backwards as it does reading it forward. Neat aye.
