October 23

Wow, what an invigorating walk this morning. Pretty cool with a very stiff wind. I think the wind was whistling some kind of stripping music because the trees were all dancing and swaying as they dropped their apparel little pieces at a time. Soon we'll be seeing nothing but bare naked limbs and torsos.

The wind and cold had me running quite a bit on my rounds this morning. No, not my whole body just my nose. The near constant need to pull out the old hanky and wipe is an aggravation that needs to be addressed. I'm thinking about growing one of those snot catchers. I can clean it up in my shower when I get home. I know they work because one of the guys working on the road had one..........Gag! I wish I'd not had that thought.

Another complication to the rounds comes from the fact there isn't a way to dress properly. The first two thirds of each round is up hill and usually creates a perspiration wetted body. Then the last third is down hill where you can just coast along. That kind of low temperature along with the wind doesn't take long to cold a damp body down. With that heat expanding and the cold contracting each trip may not crack me but extra wrinkles are surely going to happen.

I should be sorry about this sick note but.................
