After I wake, open my eyes and prior to arising, I blink a few times while the realization that the good Lord has granted me another day soaks into my still muddled mind. While still lying there I say a small prayer with 'THANK YOU GOD' being the hub. After accomplishing the getting up feat I usually feel the need to pause for an addendum to the prayer and ask for His help in enabling my old, over used, overweight, creaky and achy body to carry me thru the fine day that He has seen fit to bless me with. Grunts and groans, partly caused by the bones, will never be that which kills me.
First thing this morning I made a terrible mistake. Things haven't been going too well with Glenda's mom so she and brother Bob have been doing what they can to make things better. My bad was trying to check a recorded message after flipping through all the received calls. I did this just after 4:00 this morning. I messed up on my first attempt to call our number and it rang somewhere else. I hung up and tried a second time which was a successful call to our number. We found out at 4:11 whose phone we rang. Bob was on the line Bob checking with us the reason for his early morning call. Because of the problem with mom I'm sure he was relieved to find out the call had been a mistake but........I think one can be a bit aggravated during a relieved period.
We have a little bit of slick here this morning causing a delay in the morning walk and probably a delay in the older, including Glenda, folks weekly bridge came. It's 31 degrees here at 7:30 and I don't expect the tiny little skim of slick to last very long at all.

When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Take the reason of the thing into your mind and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power. -Hugh White
