October 3

The doctor lessened our worry yesterday but didn't do anything for Dory's pain. He says Dory has tendonitis in the shoulder and tendonitis called tennis elbow in the lower arm. Back to Eldon for therapy come Monday. The doctor was unable to feel the thyroid gland so we happily assume it has not grown back.

In fact to stay alive is a constant struggle and as old age slips in it does it's best, a little here and a little there, to make one more acutely aware of the life. It seems when younger, one tends to take life as a given and most tiny pains are short lived, mostly ignored and it's passing usually isn't even noticed. Older age screams, LIFE IS IMPORTANT, PAY ATTENTION!

Old age does make a few changes that make sense. Like, because old requires a bit more rest during and between activities it causes a huge increase in the size of the bodies seat part in a great many of us people, so as to make the resting more comfortable. Well, it works for me!

You'll find as you grow older that you weren't born such a great while ago after all. The time shortens up.~William Dean Howells
