July 3

Never a dull day around here but every so often there is added something a little more spicy than usual. Like yesterday Dory decided that she wanted to spray a bit of deck wash on the steps leading from the lower porch to the front door level. I was asked to get a sprayer out so she could accomplish this. First thing was to move a car out of the way, get a step ladder down and set up, step up it and then bring down a sprayer that is stored in the garage rafters. Next I checked it out only to discover that it didn't work. Thankfully I hadn't put the ladder up nor moved the car back in yet so I only had to move the ladder to a different area and bring down a different sprayer. I carried it down to the water source to discover that it worked fine but the line was crimped. Back to the garage for repairs.

Later, while I was busy observing a septic procedure next door, Dory loaded the sprayer up without my knowledge and began spraying. I returned learned from my schooling and began my pruning with our 20' pruning tool noticing that Dory wasn't about but continued on with my important task unabated. After awhile she came out of the house and said "Larry" in a soft way that
stood the hair up on the back of my neck. I turned to look at her standing there and saw the left side of her face was red and her holding a washrag over here left eye. She softly continued, "I've had an accident". You can't imagine how quickly happy can leave a person so absolutely leaving nothing but weak in it's place.

I'm kinda like you and tired of this story telling so I'll try to cut it short..... The hose busted on the sprayer sending Armor All Deck Wash containing Sodium Hypochlorite almost everywhere including into her left eye. By the time she came to me she had already flushed it out and was taking care of it however she could but it was still burning. A call to the eye doctor assured us she had taken the proper precautions and only if she woke today with problems would we need to go in. Tho she couldn't see anything but a blur out of it last night this morning it seems to be fine.

And how was your day?
