I walked out the door here at 5:55 this morning heading for the dock. Came back in the door at 6:52 with 15 crappie in the basket.
When I first got to the dock I caught 12 fish in the first fifteen minutes then the school did a recess or went on a field trip because the easy fishing came to a hard stop. Of the 12 only 9 met my specifications so hard was the fishing to stack up the limit of 15. All told I caught 21 fish. After 15 minutes without even a hit I was ready to give up on catching the last two that I needed for my limit but just as quick as you can say it a couple of hungry strays swam by chomping at my lure. I did spend another 10 minutes trying for one more but finally gave it up.
By the way I'm getting pretty good at cleaning them. I've even started taking a little piece off the ribs after the fish are cleaned.
It looks like cleaning fish and mowing the lawn is pretty high on my schedule today.........Wait! Did I see someone nod?
