September 17

I've heard it quoted many times, "go west young man and grow up with the country" but I suppose that was back when the west was young and sparsely populated. I think probably all the young men that went west have grown up now into older gentlemen. Could be there is an over supply of them redoing the quote now to "go west elderly ladies, find your life's treasure". There are so many ladies in their, uh, higher prime heading for the west in this day and age. Our blessed four is heading out today and naturally, for a couple of the ladies I'm hoping more for monetary treasures. One which would be Dory of course and the other Aunt Sue. The other two travelers, Lena and Ruthie, are single so they could come back with any kind of treasures that they might be fortunate enough to acquire.

Only one week in duration is the official plan but I worry somewhat because Glenda has prepared enough food to last me quite a bit longer than that. The list of chores that she has posted will take me quite a bit longer than a week to do also. Something seems a mite peculiar about all this.

The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see. ~Gilbert K. Chesterton
