Wowee! We still have our head above water here but had began to think the rain was here to stay. Believe it or not our measuring device indicates that we only received 4 inches over the past few days. Even at that, with the human body being 61.8 percent water we could make a hell of a lot of people with just the 4 inches of rain.
A motor trip, fueled with about $9.80 worth of gasoline round trip, is planned for today. To Jeff City we'll be bound, a visit with Lena and dropping off Ruth's, Glenda prepared taxes, then visiting with her for awhile too.
Lunch will probably take place at the Senior Center in the mall where we can eat pretty good for only $2.50 each. That destination for lunch came out of the brand new budget we had to work up because of the high cost of the gasoline. Unfortunately, it looks like we still may need to dip into our meager savings just to meet all our few monthly obligations.
By the way the meal last night at Ruthie D's was pretty good but like all these free meal deals, the no sales pitch, sales pitch was that same old pushing of annuities. For any financial problem, it seems the answer lies in some annuity somewhere. The different groups that sponsor these free meal deals always seem to specialize only in the older retired folks for some reason.
