June 28, 2005

Spent quite awhile yesterday bending a re-rod to use in our buoy anchor. Now that was a real chore! I was able to satisfy myself tho using a vise, brute strength and a large hammer. The hammer didn't do worth a hoot in helping the bending but it helped me to feel better just beating on something. Got the cement mixed and all of it pored around the re-rod in a five gallon bucket. Now we only need to wait for it to set and measure for the cable. I guess the measurements will be looked at later in the week. We sure would like to have it back into the water before the weekend.

The nice guy that helped me with the sod and gravel came over yesterday morning and apologized for the need to ask but told me he is really strapped right now and was wondering if I would take care of him a little for all the help. We came up with $70 and a bad attitude! I never did ask him to help me and at one place told him I didn't need him to work on the project, that I could and would do some of it a little later but next thing I knew he was down there working. Another time I asked him not to do leveling out the gravel behind the seawall but he did it anyway. He did do a lot of work and I thought he was just being neighborly or maybe he felt guilty because all of the gravel was put on our lot by them in the first place. I'm pretty sure now his plan was to work himself into some pay and I don't appreciate him forcing his labor on us. I guess we'll get over it.

The guys got here around 10:00 yesterday and finished pumping around 11:00. Someone will be back in a day or two to work a bit on the laterals. Anyway it sure is nice to be able to shower and flush the stools. May need to make payments on the repairs, I don't know.

Things worked out really good yesterday and I mean that literally. Started drinking the stuff as prescribed at 6:00 and around 6:40 I made my first of many trips to the meditation room. Not doing any of the visits did I have any time to meditate. The last trip was around 10:45. I'm a little disappointed because after all that I only lost 2 pounds. Interesting stuff isn't it?

Now we're heading out for the big goose err I mean for the poke in the ass. I know you've head this before but a foreign person was saying, "this American talk, it is so complicated, like a sack is a poke, a mule is an ass and a poke in the ass is a goose." ....Well I've always thought it kind of funny.

A timid person is frightened before a danger, a coward during the time, and a courageous person afterward.~Jean Paul Richter
