We've been out and running in our new day for awhile already. Another day that has thankfully been allocated to us. So far nothing really special has come to pass that might mark this day as a standout in our memories. Well, Glenda turning sixty today may have a lasting impression of sorts. It isn't every day that a person can turn sixty. As near as I can figure there is only one given to each person and he/she has got to stay alive long enough to get it.
I wanted to do something special for Glenda today. I made coffee and fixed her a big cup with her special creamer mixed in, then carried it in to her in bed. She likes to have her coffee as she watches the news on TV. Sounds pretty good but special it wasn't, as I do that everyday birthday or not. The day isn't over yet! Hope is still moving me on.
I'm thinking breakfast at the Jokers Wild and dinner at the Fortune with a few other stops mingled in. Not too different from most of our other days but I vow to be acutely aware for anything that crosses our path that I might grab onto to make Glenda's day more special.
This may sound like I'm only going to work on this only today because it's her birthday and the other 364 days I could care less but that isn't so. She is pretty special to us, (Larry, Mikey and Tomi), all of the time and we do try to treat her as such. Well, Mikey and Larry does, who ever knows how a cat is treating you.
"A relationship is like a rose, How long it lasts, no one knows; Love can erase an awful past, Love can be yours, you'll see at last; To feel that love, it makes you sigh, To have it leave, you'd rather die; You hope you've found that special rose, 'Cause you love and care for the one you chose." -Rob Cella
